Jeff is a lot like Shawn [late former Maine coach Shawn Walsh]. Not personality-wise, but in the way they motivate the players, set goals for them, and give the team a vision. He has one of the most intelligent hockey minds I've ever been around. Day in and day out, he sees the game in six different levels like Shawn did. I remember it like yesterday. It was one of the greatest moments of my life.

He loves it there. He was a free agent and when he decided to sign with Nashville, he analyzed it very much the same way he did when he decided to go to Maine.

One of them lost his wife and lost contact with his two children. They gave up on him. . . . The other young man has a health-challenged child and was unable to help his wife care for that child during that five years. They became estranged. It took a while to get back together.

The search took him years working on his old Apple Macintosh computer to find everyone. It became his hobby.

I think the theaters are wise to find a specialty, something that is their forte, that they can then sell or entice theatergoers to come to because that's what they're looking for. You'd be nuts not to give it to them. It keeps the theater alive.

Some of us old codgers might not be around long enough to buy tickets, and we've got to be replaced by young people. You've got to keep developing your younger audiences. Otherwise, you die when they die.

By legend, after the shows performers and stagehands gathered to play poker hands.

It has become a tradition.
