Not many teams shoot 48 percent against us. A lot of the credit I think has to go to Lee Humphrey.

I kind of expected this game to be decided in the last minute of play like all the others before. It was kind of a shock to my system.

I know Tony and I knew he had done something he was ashamed of. I could see it in his face. So, I took him out of the game, did not put him back in, even though we were down four with a minute to go.

Circumstances do not dictate whether or not we follow that policy.

I think something we all learn is that when you make a mistake, you have to pay the price. I think it's something that now, looking back, was the best thing in the world for him and for us.

One question I'm always asked after the recruiting period is what kind of recruiting year do you think you've had? And my answer is always the same. Ask me in 10 years when I see what they're doing with their lives.

These kids are human. They've played as consistently and as well as they're capable for an extremely long time.

We were in the perfect mental frame of mind. Our shoot-around this afternoon, I had to stop it, the energy level was so high. When we took the floor, I was still feeling that way. ... But at no point did we get the inside-outside play, the sharing of the ball. Some of the credit has to go to Florida, how they were able to defend our post men individually, not needing as much help.

They've probably opened up the eyes of many people, including myself, that you don't have to have 7-footers or be the biggest and strongest team. I would just hope that our guys in future years would be able to look back and say they did something great.

Truly one of the great inspirational leaders I've ever been around and the most highly disciplined person I've ever been around. I've referred to him as the George Washington of George Mason University, meaning he was the founding father. He was the true leader of the program, and everything we've done since then is a reflection of his communication to his teammates that what Coach L says (is) what we're going to do.
