It's all about whatever the team needs. Everybody wants to hit near the top of the lineup, but it all depends on what's good for the team. Lopez, Betancourt and I are the three guys who are in the mix for it, and we'll see what happens.

J.C. made some good pitches. He had good movement and he beat us today.

Good kid. I was excited for him. He didn't know what to say.

It's just a special moment. And he deserves it.

I was the guy who came up, and J.C. made some good pitches. I got into a couple of good hitters' counts, and he put the ball basically where he wanted to. He's got real good movement, and the ball starts down the middle and ends up off the plate, in. He made good pitches and he beat me there.

Getting off to a good start is key for us. The last few seasons have been rough, and for the pitching to come though like it has is the biggest key. The big start is what we need and hopefully we can keep it going.

[Schilling] spots his pitches well and he elevates his whole game when he needs to. He's done that his whole career. I think we battled and put together some good at-bats, but he got us in the end.

There are some pitchers who can elevate their game when they really need to. That was a situation where Schilling needed to, and he did a great job.

Off the bat, I thought I had a chance on that ball. It may have been the wind, maybe not. Sometimes that wall there comes into play more than most.

I wouldn't go as far as saying I'm locked in by any means. But I'm feeling good.

I've been hitting the ball hard. I've hit it hard and gotten out a few times. You go through that, but the important thing is that you keep going with the approach that works for you and hopefully they'll fall more times than they don't.

It's not really hindering me. It's all about how it feels, and so far it's OK.
