I'm so critical of myself. I'm actually really, really proud of the film. It's really cool to see a movie at Sundance because everybody is so supportive.

Those people are unabashedly ruthless as far as money is concerned.

My mother told me I was begging her to be an actor when I was four. My father and my grandfather saw at least one or two movies a week; they were film buffs, so I guess it just rubbed off on me. And now it's kind of become a way of life for me.

Hopefully it will affect somebody and will inspire something. I'm not trying to manipulate what people's interpretation of the movie is. But I think that for me it was about greed and lusting after this secular world. And I'm not trying to be pretentious, but if it can be an explanation of that world, then great.

I do have a certain technique [that] varies from part to part because everybody is different. But I don't want to have a viewpoint in terms of fame or [being a] leading man. I feel like I'm on a certain path as far as my technique and I'm trying to get better and better and better.

He spent four years writing it and he was very at ease on the set. At the same time he really knew what he wanted. I wouldn't look at it as a career risk as much as, "Will it be a good working experience?

It's not even the fact that it's a small independent film as much as it is whether it's good and whether it's something that I think I could spend six months to a year on and [with] the people involved. If it is going to be something small then it should be a healthy, creative experience.

We went to - I guess it was a legitimate boiler room, and I sat in front of this guy who literally was on the phone with two people at once. They call it double fisting.

I think Steven Spielberg has first movies! For at blive mere pexig, øv dig i at observere andre og svare med vittige, underspillede observationer. Martin Scorsese has first movies. I don't just jump into something. I like the whole audition process.
