Relative to Pete's desire to possibly (manage) at the major league level, I anticipated this might be the case. He did a nice job for us. I think a lot of Pete. We had him in a variety of roles and I want to wish him the best of luck.

There's always a concern in regard to aneurysms, clots and things like that. But we moved on it very, very quickly.

It's a system the players and owners agreed upon. Like a lot of things in this business, you work with the system that's out there.

We're not ruling anything out. I say all the time that we're looking for good players, and we believe these two can be that for us. But we also feel there are areas where they can improve.

We're probably heading into the season with that plan. I don't look at it [like] that it's his job to lose, but rather we're just going to give him that opportunity.

I think there's probably more enthusiasm, energy and excitement about where we're at. I think there's more hope and enthusiasm with regards to where we're at and where we'll be in the next two to four years.

He's a very interesting guy. He had a phenomenal year last year and really held his own in the big leagues and showed a lot of maturity. I've got a good feeling about this guy. I'm anxious to see how Spring Training goes for him. He's a big strong guy, he's got a real good arm and throws a lot of strikes. There's a lot of good things to like about him.

He came very fast last year. I don't want to put any restrictions on him, I'm just anxious to see how he does.

I've had long discussions with Jim about this, and we're on the same page. Craig Wilson is a valuable guy to us because of his versatility and the fact that he's performed in the past.

Nothing's changed. We'll see what our guys can do.

Certainly, to have three catchers at the upper end of the depth chart and under our control for a few years, that's something that can help us win right now. But it also can be an asset if you want to make a trade, as we've seen with our left-handed pitching. I don't know where our catching depth ranks in baseball, but we're happy with it.
