I sense more urgency with him than at any other time. That's a good thing.

We're hoping he's going to be able to be with us. But with an injury like that ? you never know.

It was about as freak of an injury as I've ever seen in person or on tape. He just made a cut. Nobody touched him. His Achilles snapped.

The doctors and trainers feel like he has a great chance to be back, but it is a serious injury anytime you snap an Achilles like he did. We're anticipating him back, but you never know how soon.

We've hardly had any of those types of injuries since I've been in the program. It didn't completely tear, but it was shredded. It's a serious injury any time you're talking about an Achilles. It's April and he still has soreness. I'm real concerned.

Jason Harris has definitely improved. He's had one fumble this spring - that's one fumble too many. That was an issue last fall. He's got to continue taking care of the football, but he sure has some talent.

Offensively, there was just zero consistency. Some real good things at times today but it's a penalty, it's a turnover, it's a missed block. The offense moved the ball at times and made some big plays but then turned it over five times.

I fully expect him to go out and have the kind of year Ellis had as a senior. He's capable of doing that.

Now I'm real glad, because he's got a chance to be a four-year starter. Everybody is going to be bigger than him and taller than him, but I don't know if a lot will be tougher than him.

All of them are hoping for opportunities where they will have a chance to play more football than they were going to get here at Iowa State.

We may want to get a little more work than normal.

We're not going to bring eight of them to the (105-man roster) I can promise you that. Beyond that, we're going to continue to evaluate.
