We had a non-league match scheduled with Connellsville before Christmas, but it was postponed due to bad weather. It would have been interesting to see who would have won that match. Hopefully, we'll get a chance to face them in the WPIAL title match.

Connellsville is obviously the favorite in its semifinal, but you can't count out Penn-Trafford. They beat two very good teams to get to the semifinals. Connellsville could find itself in trouble if it underestimates Penn-Trafford.

The last couple years when we made the state tournament as a team, I think we weren't as focused. There's an emotional drain on you because you have to wrestle so many tough matches in a row.

I knew it was going to be a tight match. We needed every point.

It might be a long time before we see another kid like that.

Our goal is to win a seventh consecutive title, but it will not be easy. In fact, we're not even the favorite this year.

From what I saw over the weekend, Mount Pleasant has to be considered the team to beat this weekend. Mount Pleasant is solid from top to bottom. They are the most balanced of any team in the tournament.

Tyler got a late start after having surgery on his finger. He missed the first couple weeks of practice, then missed the Eastern Area tournament and one dual meet. But he's healthy for the county tournament.

We wrestled well. It was a tough tournament, like it always is. Mt. Pleasant has a good balanced team and placed a lot of good guys.

There were good kids at his weight. He wrestled each match smart. He was a little conservative, but he went out and executed.

We wrestled Mount Pleasant at Trinity's Elite Duals, but Zach and Donnie didn't face each other. It will be a great match ... assuming both make it to the final.

Mount Pleasant has a solid team from top to bottom. They have the most solid lineup of any team in the WPIAL.

We wrestled very well against Latrobe. [Latrobe] had just dominated a very good Albert Gallatin team. Latrobe gave us a good battle, but the kids came through when we needed it.

It was a good move. If we win both of those matches, it's a tie and we win on criteria.
