Suffering succotash. I'm in a quandary.

We did not play to our ability and the standards that we've set here. You like to think that it's something that is correctable. Sometimes you're going to have a day like that.

We thought it was a lot like Jerome's. I think (Maddox) is going to practice (Wednesday). There's a good chance he'll be available this week as well.

He's coached in a lot of different places and tinkered with a lot of different ideas, but I've kept the same practice format that I learned from him for 14 years here. I guess he's gone the full cycle. He's always been very open-minded. He's receptive to change.

It was a very frustrating loss. When you turn the football over four times and are minus-3 in the giveaway/takeaway ratio, you aren't going to win many football games. We had the opportunity, even in overtime. It's very frustrating at this point, walking away with a defeat.

It is an unexcused absence. I'm very disappointed in his decision and we are ready to move on with or without him.

Nothing went wrong with Plax in Pittsburgh. He just got a good offer to play somewhere else. We weren't mad at him, and I think he leaves on very good terms, at least as far as we're concerned.

We didn't do a very good job of handling the noise element the last time we went there. I would like to think that having been there once, you know what to expect. When we walked out of the RCA Dome, there was no question that it was louder than we anticipated going in. Now we understand what it is going to be like and we have to deal with it.

He's going to go through a lot of theatrics. But you don't want to tip your hand too soon. We'll all be looking at the play clock. ... So when he starts doing all of that stuff with 19 or 20 seconds to go, you've just got to be patient.

My heart and prayers have always gone out to him and Lauren and their family. They'll get through it. Tony's a strong guy.

No one has handled it more inspirationally than Tony and his wife. That's the unfortunate part of our profession, that we live in a fishbowl and we have to experience that with the rest of America. Sometimes those are things you'd just like to share with those you are very close to, but Tony has found out that he's very close to a lot of us.

The biggest thing is not to overreact and to keep responding. Our guys just kept responding. You can't get caught up in the emotion and the finality that these games can bring. The fact this team's been there before, I think, they really understand that mindset.

This was a big challenge for our team coming in and kind of weathering the storm early in the game. These are two very evenly matched teams, as was proven this year. We're fortunate and feel good about moving on.

The officials said we didn't move on offense. But they didn't touch anybody on defense. But they had three guys in the backfield and they stopped the play with no call. That was bizarre.

He can be a very disruptive player. Joey's an emotional guy. Certainly, we feed off of that. He does a great job in the leadership role.
